still having prob with it being smokie when taking off and when changing gears, seems more smokie than normal, its black smoke, has being serviced, injectors cleaned, preasure sensor cleaned, etc,we thinking maybe its getting too much air with snorkel and k&n air filter which is being changed soon, reason for this thought as weather condition here are wetter and damper, with snorkel pushing more air in,told some diesels dont like too much air as it messes up mixture, was thinking of cutting down some air being pushed in by snorkel, any thoughts

No worries about too much air, as there is no "mixture" in a diesel engine. The MAP sensor determines pressure only, not O2 content in the intake. Have you recently switched to a different filling station for fuel, or a new additive? It is my understanding that black smoke is an indication of more fuel being injected than the engine can completely combust, so it would have to be fuel quality or fuel pressure-related.

Have you checked the EGR valve? It could be stuck open.

we checked it fast by disconecting the hose from egr valve to egr solinad and blew into to it to see if we could hear it open and close,

Are you talking about the flow control valve? That butterfly should be open when you remove the intercooler hose and look at it. It should move freely with fingertip pressure.

The EGR valve is much harder to check. You would have to take it off. It is down below the FCV and is hard to get to.

You could try unplugging the Mass Air Flow sensor that plugs into the air intake between the airbox and the turbo. Doing this disables the EGR valve, which under normal circumstances, won't allow it to open. If it still behaves the same way, my personal suggestion (and what I would do - so if it's wrong, ) would be leave the MAF unplugged and run the Jeep hard for a day or two. Really get into the skinny pedal to blow out some of the soot that may have built up around the EGR valve. Then plug the MAF back in and do the same thing. Hopefully that will force out some of the soot built up on the intake side of the EGR valve.
