That Sharadon 545 valve body looks interesting.

Right, and I agree it sucks that I have to deal with the electronics. But in my mind, that will just prolong the life of the transmission even further since it will never bear the full brunt of what it could take :) (always the optimist???)

After a $800.00 rebuild, my trans was still slow to enguage after an overnight rest. The enguage time has improved after added one tube of Lube-guard, Dr tranny shudder fix it may just be me or not!

There was a TSB on the slow to engage while cold issue. That's the one we had with ours from the get-go that the dealership weaseled their way out of fixing. If I remember correctly, it's an issue with the valve body, not the transmission itself.

Quick update. I've got an Edge torque converter on the way as well as the built tranny. Should be done in a week or two. I'll post an update when it's all done (for those who care). The edge TC was cheaper than the Suncoast to boot :)

Link please. :)

Never mind, I found it. What stall speed did you order? The two listed for the 545RFE are too high for the CRD.

The guy from edge said he's done a bunch of them for the CRD. I didn't talk to him directly, the transmission guy did. I'll ask what the stall is, I sort of left it to their discretion. I just gave them the engine specifications and told him I'd likely be doing a chip/tune in the near future.

FINALLY an update.

Transmission is in, and all is well. When it was first swapped, it still shifted like crap. I'm assuming it was just part of the relearn process. Two weeks later and it's shifting well. Feels like stock on light throttle, and is firmer when you're really into it. The TC seems to have a slightly higher stall, I forgot to ask exactly what it was set to, but is also doing well. Seems to accelerate better with the higher stall. All-in-all I'm happy.

The one bad thing was... when they pulled the old transmission apart, they said all the clutch packs looked good, and couldn't really tell me what had failed. That's very frustrating, but I guess that's just the way it goes sometimes.

No shudder at all. I haven't gotten a programmer yet as it's my fiance's jeep and she has no desire to buy one herself. I'm busy wasting money on my toys right now :)
