I didn't find anything on this, so sorry if I overlooked a topic. I want to remove the mudflaps on the jeep that were there when I got it.
From what I can tell it's 1-2 screws and a black stopper/plug that holds them on. I can remove the screws no problem but the stopper/plug wont budge. Does anyone have any tips on how to get it out without ripping off the fender?
Thanks for any help! I hope to get this done this coming weekend, provided it's not over 100 here yet!

I would suggest checking the installation instructions for the item (found here):

and trying it in reverse.

Could you post some pics of what youre talking about? Ive got the molded mud flaps and they only have screws holding them in.

If your talking about what I think youre talking about then you just need to pull on it really hard to get it out.

I'm about to put a set on my Libby (up here, I see sedans with mudflaps... self defense against all the crud they dredge out of the harbor and then sprinkle on the roads in the winter).
The stopper plugs you refer to are like expando-bolts... they are plunger operated. If you separate the head piece from the collar it rests on, you should be able to pull the head piece out about half an inch. Once that's done, the plug should pull straight out with little resistence.
