If someone with a KJ doesn't have any tow points where would be the best place to winch it out? Front and back.

No place really to be downright truthful.
On the rear there is no place to hook to unless you would use the rear axle (WHICH IS NOT GOOD)
Front the same, seen pictures of people hooking to the lower control arms but that is putting a large amount of stress on one part not desined for that.
Now with that said if they are sitting in the yard on wet grass thats one thing but in a mud hole , slid off the road etc, you may need a lot of force to pull them out.
Personally if someone does not have some type of tow point I do not hook to them, period, not worth it

Good idea! Tom, that is what I figured. But I was hoping for a different answer. People are going to have to get tow points if they want to wheel.

Before anyone pulls off the road no matter what they should have tow points front and rear, should be a requirement

I agree. Don't even go off road without tow hooks. Even Chris got stuck last time we were out and he is lifted running swampers and lockers and I pulled him out. He also pulled me out of the mud that day.

No tow points and I am not going to pull them out. Even on the road if someone slides into the ditch. I'll let them use my cell to call a wrecker and let them deal with it. That's what I did one time when a guy slid off the road into a ditch in a snow storm once.

All gentlemen adventurers should have tow points on their rigs.

Better off to push them in a little further... Make sure that their KJ is really stuck!
Then give the stuck KJ's owners and occupants a ride out so they can get a tow truck to pull them out!
Teach them a lesson!
Meanwhile, I'll come along and strip their Rig of everthing worth while!!!

Last resort would be to wrap the strap around the rear axle right at the control arm. On the fornt I would put it on the lower control arm right where control arms bolts to the Jeep(NOT AT THE BALL JOINT).

Either way, both places suck..

All Hummers(H1/H2/H3) come with F/R shackles as standard equipment.

rear hitch is good.

I've never had front hooks on my Jeeps.

But then again, most of my wheeling is either your fine, or you lose it off of a 500 feet cliff. No need for hooks as you plummet to your death.

Anybody ever dealt with rv hookups. I have rv hookups on my KJ. I tried to take them off once to install tow hooks, but I have no clue how they even got to the spots to get hook ups on! There are I think 5 bolts. 1 is way back in the bumper and one looks like I'd have to take the tire off to get to it. I thought about putting a regular tow hook into the slot and putting a heavy duty bolt in the back. Think that is a good idea or not?

Here is a pic of the hook in the rv hookup slot.

Take it from me, there is nothing worse than getting stuck in at the beach, and then finding out you have no tow package at all! Boy my wife was so pissed at me, and that was our honeymoon! So a huge Ford F-1,000,000 came along and had to tie around the rear axle, and pull while like 12 people pushed from the front. The people pushing from the front did most of the work (thank goodness) while the truck was a just in case. Horrible day! Im one of the ones with the strap around the neck! :D
