It swings down when the glove-box opens.

I think fabbing up a whole new "glove box" is a great idea. I would be interested to see what all is behind it to get a concept of how much more room one could make.

There it is.

I took my glove-box out when I was looking to install my CB. Not much room for anything other than what is already there.

99.999995213% sure my libby doesnt have that little compartment. will check after 5pm.

Wanna bet on it? I am 99.99999999999999999999999999999% sure you do have one.....unless your KJ had a drunk factory line worker building your KJ on a holiday Friday.

Lmao...at least I just downloaded the manual and found out 2 months later that the pocket was there. The "oh-crap" handle on the dash blocks your sight enough that everyone misses it. I don't think my manual had ever been taken out of the slot.

The dash is a weird place for that handle too....

It took me 2 years to find that "secret" slot for your manual. Wish I would of found it before I searched and bought my 2nd manual.

I must be sort of advanced... it only took me a year and a half.
But my manual came in a big OD Green folder that fits down in the door pocket. I was really surprised to see that spot... been in and out of the glove compartment many times and just spotted a few months back.

my 05 came with no manual so I ordered one from Chrysler but the pages were too long ( I guess they forget to measure the original manuals before they had replacements printed  )and it wouldn't fit in the slot so I sent it back (full refund) and found one on eBay with the green canvas case that fit perfectly in the slot in the glovebox. 8)

I took that green canvas case and made it into a small first aid kit. Works great and sits in my rear cargo tool box now. I figured why did my manual need a case anyway.

hahaha, thats funny. I did the same thing but ended up finding it a few days after I got the jeep.

Sad thing was, I took it out of the slot to read it and couldnt figure out how the heck it was in there in the first place.

Seriously, don't feel bad. A great majority of those who own KJs with the OS handle on the dash have no idea that slot is there. When I bought my KJ new, they handed me the OD Canvas manual package, so I had no idea that slot was there until I said something about it on this forum and someone commented on the "hidden" manual slot. That was when I took that pict that I posted, so I could pass it on.

Second "secret" of the KJ is that the visors extend.

Mine don't. I've tried. :(

Maybe true on newer models?

That is entirely possible. I am pretty sure I saw a post from a pre-05 owner that said theirs did though, so I wonder when they added that little secret??

My '02 Limited does not have that feature,I'm 100% positive about that since I tried and they have been removed before.

If I used my visors I wouldn't be able to see the road. Silly low windshield / high seat...

Not sure which Grand Cherokee youre talking about TruLiberty but the WK does kinda have a slot. Ive not looked at a WJ glove box so Im not sure what they have.

Do you have power seats Boiler? Im 6ft and I have no issues using the visors.
