Guys,

There is a writeup in the Tech KK section about the installation of a AEM Air Intake. I have a few questions I hope you guys can answer.

The first one being. Does the addition of a cold air intake void the warranty of the vehicle?

The second questions is this:

I have looked and looked for the AEM Brute Force Air Intake SilverKK used and cannot find one for a KK. Could someone provide the model number or link to the product he used? I tried the aftermarket section but the AEM link doesn't work. Also are there any other good air intake filters that can be used (not K&N, no oil filter media). Thanks in advance.

there isn't one for a KK...digger actually helped me out with this...you actually have to order one for a Dodge Nitro...i forget where i got it from but i got it for a 2007 dodge nitro 3.7L V6...

as far as voiding the warranty...i doubt they would void it for an intake...don't hold me to that though, some dealers who knows what they would do.

Do you know the model number for the one silverKK and others have used for the brute force air intake? And does this 07 model work for an 09 KK?

i used his tech write up to install mine on my 08, the only exception was i didn't have to extend the wire for the sensor, the 08s is longer. otherwise it seemed everything else was the same.

AutoAnything SKU 2734527
Part # AEM-21-8218DC

thats from the AutoAnything website...for the silver colored one...

What type of wire extension do you use on the 09 kk? I see in silverKK write up you have to extend the wires. What type of wires should be used? Thanks again.

not sure what guage wire it is...any supply store like autozone or homedepot should have an assortment of wires to choose from, just get the one that matches up...think in the write up it says the wires need to be extended 6 inches...

Yeah, I just wanted to ensure I got the proper guage wire. If anyone knows (Digger/SilverKK) I would appreciate it.

You will need something like 16-18 ga wire. The size won't make any difference.

If you are realy worried about the warranty you can get the facotry Cold Air intake system...

Does anyone have a sound clip of how the Jeep/Nitro sounds after this mod?

Electricity is composed of electrons flowing through wire like water through pipe. Just get wire that is at least the same diameter (gauge) or larger than what you're extending and you won't have any problem (e.g. with water, you get a back-up, with electricity, you'll get overloaded/overheated wiring). Just trying to help.

I meant the size won't matter in reference to the 16-18 gauge. I know it's around that size. Yes, you don't want to get too small but if you look at the wire it's a pretty small gauge to begin with. Anthing is the range of 16-18 gauge will be fine.

As far as any kind of warranty you are protected under the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuson-Moss_Warranty_Act. If the dealer has anything to say about warrenty mention Magnuson Most Act and they normally stfu. lol 8)

I bought mine at amazon.... I have amazon prime so free second day shipping was a no brainer for me....
as far as the wire gauge get any of the ones mike mentioned (16 or 18) just be sure to buy color coded wires.... it will be easier!
and do it! its worth the time and money

I called the dealership regarding warranty. They said that an air intake would not void the warranty of my new 09 KK. I just wanted to pass this information along just in case someone was holding back for this reason. I also think that this information would be good to have in the KK tech writeup as well...such as gauge of wire and the fact that you must use an 07 Dodge Nitro AEM Brute Force Kit. I will install soon and take some pics.
