Wheel what ya got and let others join in regardless what they drive....as long as it is capable (for that specific trail) and you aren't babysitting them throughout the trail.

I'm thinking about getting a KJ recovery team sticker made up.

I'v never been a fan of any blank Recovery Team decal. One day you'll need to get pulled out or something and it will be an FJ or Hummer or something else and you'll look like and feel an idiot because of your sticker.

I would have ran them over. :D

Your jeep will be very capable after you get that Franky installed. Get some nice tires and a rear No Slip, Aussie, Detroit or ARB and you are good to go a lot of the places the big boys go. Then they are the ones that will look like an idiot for talking down about your jeep.

then you can just look at them blankly when they get stuck..

and tell them you would pull them out if you had a 'Real' jeep but pretend recovery straps don't work real good :P

then you can sit there comfortably with the AC on while they tromp around in the mud hookin their recovery strap up to your hitch

there's plenty ways to drive ya point home with a bit of self satisfaction without lookin like you're just as bad as the guys who pour water on your windshield

Laugh w/ them. Eventually you wil get your chance to have a laugh at their expense. Trust me, it only takes Once that one of them ends up needing your help and they never live it down, Especially if you are subtle about it. Chances are you won't hear much flak from anyone after that one incident.

I doesn't bother me what kind of rig you have as long as you use it. Over here in WA a lot of guys (and gals) buy the newest and best rigs, buy every little knick-knack under the sun, lift them as high as possible and get the biggest and best wheels with low profile Toyo MT's tires. THERE EVERYWHERE!!! And the sad part is, 99% will never see any trails. If your into show trucks then build a lowrider. If your going to make a badass 4x4, USE IT !!!

Just one man's opinion. 8)

OFFICIAL KJ SELF-RECOVERY VEHICLE

WE GET STUCK ANY PLACE ANY TIME

DON'T LAUGH ITS PAID FOR

honestly I find the only thing to do to people is show them what you can do. I've gone on a few runs with my local Jeep club, same reacation at the start, your taking that!! and at the end, same reaction "you did good out there" "you made it through", etc. Must people I run into just do it as a joke, years ago, the cherokee owners gut the same crap, today the jk owners are getting there own form of it, and even once upon a time the tjs heard it. The funniest time I've had yes was going mudding and we past a nissan, had a quick chat with them and saw them again on the way one, the driver was crapping his pants that I took my little old liberty into the mud, he was just shocked what I could do.

You're absolutely right. I remember looking over Craigslist at all the utterly bad-ass, modded jeeps and wrangers, lifts, DANA 44's, 38" mudders, fat coils, detroit lockers, and at the end of many of the ads "never been offroad" was extremely common. Whenever I have the chance to talk to someone with a badass rig, the first question I always ask: "Ever take this little girl off the street?" Because you never know.

Just my thoughts.. Recovery stickers, well, to each his own, as far as the Toyota FJ, it is a very capable offroad vehicle, do not overlook them, my father-in-law owns the Baja edition fully loaded and honestly, well Im not even going to say it :( I have taken that FJ in places in the sand and mud where I would think about taking the KJ and it eats it up like nothing. We took it up to Stokes Forest, where there is lots of Rocks, 4Low no problems, so just saying Toyotas have always and will be Jeeps competition. So lets be nice and make friends, those guys are out having fun just like us. :D

I say let them buy there toys and lift it and buy all the goodies for it and never drive it off-road. Then they can sell it to us for cheap.
