I bought a set of Hella 500 FF driving lights that I want to install this weekend. Do I need to remove the entire bumper to do so or is there a way around that? From what I understand there are already pre-drilled holes in the metal bumper beneath the plastic façade bumper. I think it’s 3” inside of the inside edge and 1.5” in front of the front edge of the grill. I’m pretty sure that I just need to suck it up and remove the bumper but I figured I’d ask.

Also, if there are any tricks to running installing the switch in the dash please let me know. Do I need to remove the entire dashboard? If anyone has pictures of this install that would be awesome.

I just mounted my lights a few weeks ago.It was very simple once you get past the fear of drilling.I marked my bumper and drilled a pilot hole, then followed up with a 10mm drill bit. The mounts fit perfectly and it was very simple. Dont have fear of drilling because once you get them mounted you will look back enjoy what you just did.

I don't mind drilling but - where do I drill? After I drill can I reach the other side of the bumper to hold the bolts in place or do I need to remove the bumper to figure all of this out? Thanks!

Check the bottom of the bumper there are two holes were you can get the bolts in and get a socket in to tighten them up. So you dont have to take the bumper off.

I'm sorry for hijacking the thread. I just purchased a 2005 Renegade that was in an accident, and the bumper was replaced, but not the fog lights. If I buy Hellas or something similar, will I be able to use the stock switch and wiring (splice into the original I guess).

Thanks,
Bruce
