Yeah, I'll have to find some spares to put on the one I eventually get.

How hard is it to get a trailer like yours registered through the DMV? Never registered anything custom like that.

You need to have detailed drawings, pictures of the construction, pictures 3 views of the finished trailer, weight slip, and the drawings need to have them stamped by a notery public, recipts for the materials. This is where Im going to have an issue, my neighbor is a Steel worker so all the steel so far has been for free. the only expence I had so far has been the axel kit. Still need to get the fenders, diamond plate. Im working on the rear bumper this weekend. I need to finish with the steel so I can have it weighted.

In Illinois we just fill out a form stating home built the size the weight capacity and pay for a title they (DMV) send you a VIN sticker. No proof or any thing. Ive built 4 trailers over the last 25 years and they were all easy to regester. The guys
over at IH8MUD http://forum.ih8mud.com/trailer-tech/ do a lot with these trailers M100's and others. Mylatest build:

I know, some day Ill move out of Jersey, anything you put on the road in this state is a PITA to get plates on it if you build it. :(

Even after you get something on the road in NJ, the PITA doesn't end... e.g. you can't even pump your own gas.
