Stock Speakers

Allright. I guess I cranked up the radio one too many times.
The passenger front speaker is just crackling away.
Is there any quality speaker I can replace it (or all) with
without having to amp them? I like the factory stereo,
just need better speakers.

I did find factory replacements on Fleabay.

What brand is the factory stereo/speaker system? It's the CD/cassette
system in an '02 Limited.

i have the factory speakers if you want them...but I would concider getting new speakers because you are going to take it apart, you might as well get better ones.

I would say get the Alpine type R speakers since they have the best sound w/o an amp IMO, I got the Infinity References with an amp

yes, I'm not saying they are the best, but they are like a stock speaker (as in have bass and treble) but MUCH HIGHER QUALITY...

and $100 bucks for 2 speakers are cheap, mine were $120 and they are not as good

i put pioneers from walmart in mine and with no amp and the stock head unit i have no complaints what so ever, it sounds friggin great

took a bit of modification on the tabs to get the gm6.5 size to fit with the chrysler 6? mounting holes but it wasn't like a hack job or anything

I have Polk audio speakers....if you want GOOOOOD quality and sound I suggest you get the db6501's...but they are worth some coin...but overall I love them and the work AMAZING. and I didnt have to use the OEM speaker amps

I haven't done it yet, but i'm looking at the Alpine type R for the front and type S for the rear (at least i think that what i'm looking at...to lazy to go back and look up the specs now.) I've heard quite a few vehicles with Alpine speaker setups, and i've been impressed with every one, I'm sure a few more people on here run them too.

That's too much work you just need to buy 6 3/4" speakers or 6.75 however you wanna put it, then you dont need the tabs it will fit in the hole where you're stocks was you can even use the same screws.. the 6.5" don't fit worth crap I custom fabbed mine though lol used a spacer from 6.75 to 6.5 and I used self tapping screws to mount it lol

Well dan was in the middle of doing my window regulators when he found that 3 of my speakers didn't exist (if you recall, i had just one that worked, kinda.. lol...)

and he asked if i wanted him to throw some in and i of course said sure because i didn't want to have to pull the doors myself.. and i asked him what size and he said "I don't know.. like 6 or something..."

So i got 6 or something! haha
