My cousin just bought herself a new to her 2005 KJ!!

It needs tow hooks. I forget where I got my wifes...it was a long time ago! Where do you get yours? Best price? Is there a better alternative for front recovery?

moparpartsamerica has pretty good prices. I bought mine online from someone else, but the link is now dead.

The only other cheap option I am aware of is the hidden hitch front bumper mount or a Detours winch mount. After that it is custom or a new bumper.

actual towhooks are probably the cheepest

can use class II ball mounts on their side for about 100 dollars total materials cost

How much are they at the stealership??? I've seen em for 80-90 searching google...

IIRC....and it was a while ago, like late 2004, I paid about 76 bux for the set on my wifes (she was my GF at the time, haha). I guess 80 isn't bad considering.

They've held up pretty well, only bent one when we had to pull my stuck F150 2wheel drive work truck out of a hairy situation in my driveway. Had to pull it sideways and backward through 2'+ of snow....hook is bent up a tiny bit, but not too bad. In hind sight, I should have let the neighbor with his F350 plow truck do the pulling!!

Just an FYI - I went to the dealer three days ago to try to get a set...they were out of stock and the guy said they didn't have any on order, nor was Chrysler taking any new orders. Something about the bankruptcy thing...they stopped making parts, too. No lie!

I did this...

and I love the result. The only difficulty for me was getting the extra hole drilled in the arms. I couldn't do it myself and the machine shop had them for three days! Anyway, look into it!

I think we are having random avatar explosions or something. This is the 2nd time I've heard this and i don't see a problem with jdui5's avatar or mine for that matter. Maybe there's a glitch in the system.

I ordered mine from www.jparts.com They had them in stock and I got them last week. Couldn't be happier! I would call before ordering to make sure they still have some in stock as all the dealers around me were all out and didn't have a projected delivery date.

If you have any sort of nudge bar, aftermarket bumper, then they will need to be removed to mount your front tow hooks as they all occupy the same mounting points.

Not sure exactly but I think they were around $100. I get a discount cuz of a Jeep club affiliation, so I don't recall what the original price was.

Not sure what happened with my avatar either, looks ok now though, as does everyone else.

That is wild they stopped making parts. Hope they don't stop making all the parts for Liberties, we'll be screwed. Guess it would be good for aftermarket companies though
