so im having a problem with my jeep wanting to start.. makes a clicking noise non stop.. i have to turn the key back and forth about 5 times then it will slowly turn over.. i put a new battery in it and went and got the alternator checked. One of the guys at the local parts store said it was probably my alarm being that it is about 5 years old.. so i took out the alarm and still having the same problem. when i finally do get it started the idle sensor seems likes its lost all power to it and i have to rev the jeep just to keep it running.. once i back out its fine. Then if i drive it for 30 min and turn it off.. it starts right up like normal but any time over a hour or so it goes back to the clicking. i had read some thing about a spring going bad in the starter or maybe just a bad ground wire.. i just want to check everything before i go buy a new starter and still have the same problem.. anyone had this happen to them?

I'm still rather new to "jeep" but from car experience...

Sounds like there's not enough juice getting to the starter - I wouldn't think that it's anything to do with your alarm though.

I assume the alternator test came back fine?

The starter motor could also be going bad...

check starter, wires, celenoid(sp?)... battery would've been my first guess too.

You need to check the wiring carefully. If you had not replaced it, I'd say the battery too.
It is possible a ground wire or connection is bad. Have you checked the new battery to see if it is being drained? If you have a short or a bad switch or relay, the battery could be being drained. Check the ignition switch too.
