if your going to make one be sure to use 1/4" steel for your mounting, a minimum of 2x2x1/4" I used 3.5x3.5x1/4" on mine

Please elaborate on how you mounted it, Bolts through the box section?(3.5 x 3.5) (upwards or sideways mounted?)then the cross member (what the hitch is monted to) is mounted below that? Sorry for all the posts guys, just want the best possible outcome!

For the factory-type job, the bolts - 6 of them - mount up into the set of holes that may also be used in mounting a gas tank skid.

Sorry to dredge up such an old post, but... does anyone have any wiring advice for a trailer light harness?
Is there a plug and play kit out there for the KJ?

Yup, the MOPAR kit is just that...
I ordered mine through jparts.com (a dealer in PA that discounts a bit).

you know if you move the brackets down that you had to torque on there, it will be more "Hidden" have that same one myself and love it better that i did that

I put a generic one on from ? I do not remeber. I did it with a 1/2 socket and lifted into place with a floor jack. I use it for a shackle and you will get added protection in the event of a rear collision.
