I dont think its a very popular mod. I dont see to many members with them. How much more flex could your really expect to see out of the front?

I'm not an engineer but I would think that front sway bar disconnects on an IFS suspension wouldn't be a wise idea. You might stress out the front CV joints when flexing.

Actually you get quite a bit more flex. A few years back there were a bunch of folks (me included) that jumped on these. Here's my problem with them - they break. During daily driving mine ended up getting wedged in the steering assembly...not good. Now I just remove the entire sway bar before hard trails. It only takes 6 bolts to remove and maybe 10 minutes tops.

Edited to say - never have had a problem with the ball joints or CVs as a result of disconnecting the front sway bar. There's no need for conjecture on this point as there are plenty of people that wheel sans sway bar and have no issues. If you want to see how it drives then just take the dang thing off before your next wheelin trip. Always re-install before hitting the pavement though.

It doesn't sound like the Kj was meant to have them.

I take mine off all the time. With the bar on, the rear does most of your flexing, but with the front bar off, the front flexes much easier. On the CRD's with tall lifts you can bite the boot at full droop on the drivers side, I just put a limiting strap on the drivers side and no problems since.

The problem most people who had with them back in the day is that they were noisy. Jeepin Al's are not as bad (he had a service kit that helped tamed the clunking noises).

I have a set of the old JKS in my garage, after I saw them I just couldn't be bothered to fit them.

Imagine you have to put them back on after you ran through a mud hole....
