any suggestions...

Awhile back, I got ahold of a set of MOAB's with 245/75R16 Goodyear MTR's and now I need some new tires. Anyone have any suggestions for a replacement, preferrably cheaper than the MTR's?

Treadwrights

. They have the same tread pattern as the Goodyear MTR's. And are about $85 a piece.

treadwrights okay for a dail driver??? like 100 miles a day?

They're just as good as regular tires (which some would debate). But like it's been said before, the main problem with blowouts is tire pressure, whether they are retread or original. I'm using mine as a daily driver, put on 500 miles the past 2 weeks. Holding up just fine. Other members run them, and I have NEVER seen someone who doesn't love them for the price (now it's time for someone to find the haters, haha).

And Treadwright also has the BFG AT tread design. So if you're looking for a tire to drive on a lot as a daily driver, you could go with that pattern. I use mine as a DD, but I had to go all out with the aggressive look. They're awesome.

Well - I wouldn't say I hate them - but I have argued the other side a bit

I'd be cautious if I were running 80mph in 100F weather with a full load (or any combination of those factors)

but lightly loaded cooler temps - lower speeds they should be okay

if you go look at the retread - website - Goodyear and Michelin when they retread - they do xray or ultrasound on incoming cores Treadwright site only mentions an inspection - so I'd ask.

I'm not too sure how much hot temp would effect Treadwrights, not enough experience with them. But for the two people here, NY and Rhode Island, that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

The reviews I had gotten from them convinced me to buy the Treadwrights, and I love them so far. Keep in mind, I'm 18 and getting ready to be a college freshman, and this all came from MY pocket. So budget was a big factor.

any suggestions...
