I just added the extension to my Black Widow roof rack. I had to use my old Thule load bars to get things to fit right so it seems a bit high for me. The feet on the OEM crossbars wouldn't adapt where I needed them to go to get the brackets to connect to the rack properly. I may need to do something custom in the near future to get things lower and a bit more stream-lined. either that or sell the whole thing and buy a "real" rack!

Looks good Drybones, I've been thinking of extending mine lately.

I also notice a TB on the KJ!

thanks, The extension section has bigger openings so the mounting bracket/feet won't fit in it. I needed to move the bars as far apart as possible to get things to line up. I had to use the smaller/softer mounts that come with the Thule load bars to get the front bar a little bit more forward and seated on the plastic section of the siderail. the lower OEM rail mounts are hard and have a metal bracket underneath that wouldn't fit right. I definitely think it sits too high so I will do something different at some point.

BTW, zoom in and "discover" the bug!

I would love to know an alternate way of mounting it too as I have the same type of setup.
