Digger the locker that you have is made in the same factory as the one I have. I can not buy an Aussie Locker here in Australia, it is called a Lokka and only able to buy from one supplier in South Australia.

They are a very tough product, I have beat on mine plenty. The combination of rear Locker and traction control still working up front is very good. It takes a little getting use to as you can go a lot slower over difficult terrain, the need for momentum is almost gone just crawl along. On road manners are good and get better as the locker break in. it takes about 5000km to break in properly.

Yeah, I like it so far. I got the chance to play with it in the rain today. Yeah taking corners is different for sure...

Mike you are playing with fire when you start modifying recovery gear. The strap you have is a tow strap for towing a vehicle with. The strap you need is a Snatch Strap. Snatch straps have no hooks fitted. If you use the tow strap to recovery a vehicle you will either damage one of the vehicles in the recovery or the strap will break, possibly injuring or killing somone.

I am an accredited 4wd instructor with a lot of years experience in 4wd recovery. Go to a 4wd shop where they know what there talking about and buy the correct gear then go and do a 4wd course and learn how to use it.

I also have a snatch strap. I got this strap for really cheap ($10) from a friend which is the only reason I got it. The friend I got it from actually used it to recover me once. He had used it with the hooks. Once I got it I knew the hooks had to go. I guess you can call this my back up strap.

kinda had a bad day... got my tail lights sprayed and they were too ligth so they need to be done with another coat... asked for my front signals to be done and they did the clear sidemarkers i had to order form europe so they are now destroyed... ont he positive they charger me 1/3 less and that basically pays for the sidemarkers plus they r doing the tails and the signals again for free

I changed the oil and rotated the tires last night (6K mile service interval) and discovered, as many have already mentioned, that this is the worst oil filter placement I've ever dealt with. I wonder what special tools, if any, the dealership mechanics use to get these things out.

I will say that at least the little oil "gutter" thingie worked quite well; much better than I expected. I figured the oil coming out of the filter would fall everywhere besides that gutter, but it mostly came right out of the end of the gutter with the exception of a few random drops.

So, good job, Chrysler, for putting that gutter there, but not so good job with the filter access. One thing is for sure... with or without skid plate protection, you don't have to worry much about your oil filter getting damaged.

The special tool is their hand  It is a very bad placement and Chrysler doesn't make any tools to make the job easier. One thing I did notice is that it is easier to get it off if your standing up, you can get a better grab and a little more leverage. It's very hard to do from your back.

The triangles are supposed to deflect the bugs from the windshield.

Bras can do a lot of damage to paint. If dirt gets under it your paint will be scratched to hell.

What u gentlemen say about the bras is true if you leave it on all the time. But it sounds like to me that this person is only using it on trips. And we all know what bugs and road grime can do to the front of our cars. So give the guy a breaK FOR THOSE THAT THINK THE BRAS ARE UGLY I DON'T REMEMBER HIM ASKING YOU WHAT U THOUGHT IT LOOK LIKE. TO EACH HIS OWN. Also the bra cost about $100.00 compared to how much did u spend on the vinyl $400.00 t0 $500.00 if you had to have it installed.

Well thanks for the backup there tools...

bbbuuuuutttt...

I know it's ugly... don't worry.

you're right though, I did only buy it for use on longer road trips, and trips up into the mountains skiing (gravel/sand on the roads up here). I'm not trying to protect the paint, or keep bugs off the windshield... Just want to keep a big rock from flying into my rad on my way to the wedding.

I'll probably even run it without the hood/bra piece and just cover the grill with it.

Wingnuts - I would've liked to do the 3m film... we'll see when that hits the budget. by the time it does... it'll probably be too beat to hell to care. However, your 3m doesn't cover the rad does it?

I would've ideally liked to do what Digger and a few others have done (mesh BEHIND the grill)... I just can't seem to find the time, or ambition. I'm a month away from my wedding, and it seems I don't even have the time to drive the jeep, let alone muck about with it.

Found mud at drill this weekend. Missed the jeep when I was trying to back up the damned up-armored hummer to a dumb trailer. Also got the UN-LOST decals in the mail saturday. Going to stick'em on sometime this week.

got in a little fender bender today... was at work and was on my way home to get something. as i was pulling out of my corner spot my bosses son in his little scion tc, came fast around the corner to get into the parking spot next to me... he came from behind me into techniqually whats considered a one way ( he was going the wrong way). i hit the brakes in time to miss the front of his car but he continued to turn sharpy n his booty end above his back tire hit my corner bumper. i had paint damage which he is taking care of but it must suck to pull into work n hit the worst part of your car to possibly hit n then not be able to drive to a shop cause the body was rubbing on his tire... he then had to call his dad, my boss, and have him come... there was a alot of yelling... and a hammer to hit the body away from the wheel.
Long story short:

Jeep Liberty: + 1
Scion tc: 0
