PLEASE do a search on here about CRAP KRAWLERs

Also read up on lifts in general, lots of great info and LOTS of better choices than Krawler and Revtech

Since we don't know what year you have I will make some suggestions
If yours has over 30,000 miles the springs and shocks need replaced so a full spring / shock set up is best setup.
With a spacer lift if you have it torn apart you might as well replace the front shocks while you are in there, rear HAVE to be replaced with longer ones. Also bumpstops in the front are needed , well the rear as well.
If you look at the cost of a spacers lift, new shocks etc you are close to ( within) 150/175 of a full spring upgrade.
People do run spacer lifts for a while but most switch over in a short amount of time and then post on how much better it rides after they upgraded.

Just some things to think about. There is only one time to do it right

Oh and did I mention stay away from Rock Krawler

Tom

I would recommend the Frankenlifet Premium II with OME all around. You probablly will get around 2.5"-3" of lift. Thats just my .02 :D

Remember, these are only reccomendations  . Two people have already posted that they are happy with the RK lift. Do what you think would suite you best. Upgrading to full suspension WILL be the best, but this spacer lift can be fine, depending on budget/intentions for the lift. Just keep in mind all of the potential problems that it can (and some will argue will) cause.

Nothing to argue about,
more complaints than those that are satisfied.
But go ahead and go for whatever trips your trigger

Hey guys look, no need to turn into a pissing match ok. Let everyone just say there one piece. no reason to go back and say anything about their opinion alright.

Also to help clear things up.

The RK has worked great so far for me and my girl friend. It gave us the 3.5'' of lift promised. Only downside to the lift really is the stock suspension.

When the Stock suspension started to sag we did lose lift height. When i lasted measured are lift height we were only about 2'' or so over stock. That is with a suspension with almost 50k miles on it and some good rough wheeling on it as well.

Other than that no problems at all. All bolt's were grade 8 or better. Welds on the Forks were awesome and strong, and the spacer is add's what it is supposed to.

Personally I will say Tom knows what he's talking about

I like the Frankenlift I, I got the OME/Rancho setup - I personally see no advantage for the OME shocks over the Rancho's. My .02

Also if you wish, or can afford it, Jeepin by Al's makes a 4" and 6" lift (my understanding is the 4" is actually just comparable to the frankenlift) but these lifts do cost more money as they require more modifications and parts.

This is your rig, I (we all should) give you my (our) opinions on products and such, but the decision is yours. If you decide to go in a different direction you may regret it, then again it may be the best thing you could do. Just good luck and glad to see your doing something with your jeep 8)

He asked for opinions and that is what he is getting,........ opinions and facts . In the last 5 years there has been a ton of posts regarding their products, their customer service ( or lack there of ) and it is just not a well made product.
Mine has over 95,000 miles (on the lift, 127,000 on the KJ) and am still as tall as any Frankenlift out there, so in the end which is better, spending money on a poor product now and have to do it over or do it right the first time and be done! For me and lots of others we know the answer

Not saying that is what he is not getting. I understand everyone is stating their opinions. But just cause someones says something does not mean anyone can go and try to correct them. Look The RK is not the best system. It is a spacer lift pretty much. Of course it is not going to hold its lift height like the other lifts that replace everything. But for the cheap and easy lift it is good. As per customer support, i have never had a problem with it at all.

As for other vehicles the RK makes awesome systems as well. Not many bad things on that end. Every company is going to have its pro's/con's, cause of some people having a bad exp. It happens. RL had some bad exp, i am sure jeepin by al did when it first started, RE has, so has superlift, RRO, the list goes on. Bashing companies is not good for business nor aftermarket product. Ya you want to steer away from some, because they have a constent history of very poor products and very poor customer service. Hell, Rusty's was a poopy company when it first started and for many years. Products did not last long. But, now they have gotten tons better about everything.

Just to end this
I do not BASH companies,  I speak either from experience that I have had or friends have had. I do not like to waste money, nor do I like to see my friends waste money. So I share what I have come to know. Speaking the truth is not bashing in any form. :o
Over the years I have gained "a little" knowledge, thats why people ask my opinion from time to time, because they know I do not beat around the bush or kiss a companies behind. If they make junk I make sure people know about it.
Don't you do the same for your friends??????

End of this discussion for the evening, pass the collection plate.

Never said you were bashing companies and what not. But, it has happened on this forum. Also, yes i do like saving my friends from doo doo products and bad rep company's.

Never said speaking the truth is bashing either. But, neverless talking about a company bad as a whole is not good either. If it is one product then say it.

Also another note, never gave any sort of hint that you don't have any knowledge on these KJ's. Giving info straight forward is good.
