KJ: 1, Deer: 0

I have a meeting with a claims adjuster on Thursday to determine the damage from a deer that attacked my passenger rear door and quarter panel. I was driving 35mph and didn't see the thing until it bounced off the jeep.

Door and window functions properly. But you can see that the fixed glass is broken, the door has a some damage and the rear quarter is a little wrinkled. Any guesses as to what this might cost?

I bet your estimate is in the $1200-1600 range

More than 1600 if they do it right I would say, don't think you can pop that back out,
so new door 500,
quarter panel for 1200/1300,
glass 200 to 225
then paint and labor (calls for 18.5 hours just for the quarter panel.)

I'll go for 3500/4000 at the very least

LINE-X it all over :lol:

of course you can repair it cheaper ( 2 gallon of mud and some cardboard I could make it look like new ) just depends on what you and the insurance company can work out

I just had some body work done to my right rear quarter panel next to the glass and new rear bumper, just short of $2,000 at the local Chrysler dealer. My damage was no where as severe as yours.....

Seriously, glad you are okay, KJ can be fixed. I see about 2-5 deer almost evey morning headed up my road... it's not even rut season either.

That's the same piece of glass they broke when some $& broke into my KJ.

That piece of glass alone, comes with the track, and is $455.

OK, I guess 1200-1600 was a 1990 price. I think Rev. Mudd would do well on price-is-right. Hmmm, that could be a new lost game if someone worked near a body shop and could post photos, then the estimate....

That seems way, way light. My bet, $3500 range. These days, you can't walk into a body shop and say "Good Morning" for under a $1000.

Glad you are ok..........I'll bet that is $3,500 or so in damage.

I have killed 2 deer and wounded one......none with the KJ though.......yet.

quarter is repairable if the bodyshop knows what their doing... door will need replaced. i'd say mudd is close.
