It does look a lot better coated. I wonder how much a rack like that negatively effects the drag coefficient? I wonder if it cuts in to fuel mileage?

I have a question for Chip... How sturdy is top rail? Could I hang from it or use it to pull myself up? I'm over 200lbs...

Very sturdy, the rack was designed for me to get up there and stand on one foot on one rail and still have safety factor of 2 (I think it was...Might check my build thread. I'm late for muffler job or I'd look).

As far as wind resistance, racks that sit close to the jeep roof and have a handful of round members like mine will have very little effect and will be quieter than the wire basket type racks that sit up real high. All those little air obstacles and their distance from the roof are the problem.

I didn't see any loss of mileage.
