Yeah I have to agree with those who suggest rocker bars. What you need to consider are things you must have over things you'd like to upgrade. We won't even consider "cool cosmetic stuff".

Sure some will tell you the MOPAR skid is garbage and it may very well be, (I've never had one), but other's will also tell you how they've trashed a Skidrow plate too. Come down hard / the wrong way out on the trail - well let's just say, there are no guarantees - or, all bets are off. So in my opinion having a MOPAR tranny skid is better than nothing. Do you have a gas tank skid? Transfer case skid?

As for lockers, sure they make a big difference on the trail but like you've come to realize, this is your daily driver. If anything (since ARB is not within budget), I'd say go with a limited slip in the Corp 8.25 rear end. Much better device on the road and off-road (compared to a open diff).

Assuming you have front and rear recovery points on your Jeep, is your rear diff (cover) protected? Do you have a recovery strap? Getting stuck is part of the game, being someone who hasn't thought enough to supply your own recovery items can make you look bad. You become a PITA to other's.

Just some things to consider.

I was diving down a dirt road when my MOPAR tranny skid folded like tissue paper causing my engine to bleed out leaving me stranded on a mountain for 3 hrs during a snowstorm while friends went back to MOAB to buy replacement oil and filter.

There has to be more to this story than what you simply wrote.

Get a Heavy duty tranny skid. I think someone on the forum had their MOPAR tranny skid fold like tissue paper causing their engine to bleed out leaving him stranded on a mountain for 3 hrs during a snowstorm while friends went back to MOAB to buy replacement oil and filter.

Just making sure he got the point.!

If you want to wheel your junk,in order(in my opinion)............

1-recovery points F/R(tow hooks and/or hitch) and a snatch strap
2-skid plates, all 4 since they all are equally important
3-rock rails(not OEM Renagade one's either)
4-tires
5-lift
6-lockers/LSD's

No - Someone supposedly had their MOPAR tranny skid fold like tissue by simply driving down a dirt road. Let's get it right. And to that I say I have a hard time understanding how this could happen? On the other hand, I could understand that someone trashed their MOPAR skid on a mountain, didn't bother to check for damage at the time, and ended becoming stranded down the road, make that, dirt road.

It is all too common with some people do such things. I'm just saying.
