Bad thing about joing AARP... I joined the first year I was able mostly just to tweak my mother... but didn't renew... like a bloodhound, they have relentlessly tracked me down and kept pouring junkmail in my mailbox ever since.
If I had it to do over, I'd not and just say I did.

I haven't even joined, but somehow they found out I was eligible
and I get junkmail at least once every 2 weeks!
