Story first: I was driving around one of my buddies houses with a gravel drive, I was doing about 20 or 15 and I thought it would be "cool" to slide around, there was just flat grass on each side and really no immediate danger. So I kept going straight and then started to turn, popped it into neutral and hit the ebrake enough to start a slide. I slid a little bit, probably turned the car almost 180. (very lame though and totally not worth it.) After that I put it in reverse since I was facing the grass, backed up and went on my way, but then there was this horrible griding noise at all speeds and a knocking/popping noise up to 15mph. It still shifts on time and drives but there I know it can't be good. I tried to film it but its more of a vibration feeling than it is loud. Anyone have any ideas? I didn't hit anything and I was in neutral during the actual slide?

Off the wall, but are you sure you don't have rocks in your wheel wells? I've driven through heavy gravel in a honda before, then had hideous grinding noises after. Taking all four wheels off, I found that there were rocks trapped in between the brakes and the inside rims.

Well I had just enough time to take the front wheels off this morning in check, everything seemed good. I had to go to work and the jeep is my only vehicle so I had to take it. I turned everything off and just listened to it. I figured out it is more coming from the engine because it makes a noise a stopped. Around 1,800rpm is the worst sound/vibration.

THEN! as strange as it happened...
I took a corner about 25 in the opposite way I had spun out, this time just on a normal paved road leaving for my lunch break. I hear a metal sliding kinda noise, very hard to describe. and THEN nothing.... It fixed its self. Runs smooth as ever. I punched it getting on the interstate, just like it was before. Weird...

sounds like something is loose and sliding
- I'd keep checking to see what -
it may slide enough to break next time.

and next time may not take a skid - it may just take a corner the other direction.
