It will only further reduce clearance by the length of the nipple beyond the normal valve. I have the normal valve on mine, and it does not extend below the Mopar skid plate. I don't even have to jack mine up, I just reach under, turn the valve, crack the seal on the filter, and go chill for a minute while it drains.

Is there a specific reason you want the one with the nipple? The regular valve gives you a controlled enough flow to easily fill an oil analysis container.

not really, I like the idea that the flow could be directed into any oil can. but not sure I want something longer hanging down from the bottom of my Jeep. I would still have to use a drain pan for the filter so I guess its not worth it. I'm going to order the plain one.

Is the safety clip a good idea?

Just recently added a F102 (no nipple). Drains nicely into the catch pan. I had thought about the longer version, ultimately could not see the need for having the extra length under the rig.

The clip is a good idea, like wearing a belt and suspenders, your pants are sure not to fall down. I ordered the one with the nipple and ended up cutting it off with a hacksaw.

Fumoto valves have a locking detent on them making it nearly impossible to open them by accident. I ordered the safety clip once, and never used it.

I guess if you were wheeling, then it would be a good idea.

I just put the f102n(nipple) on. I have skid row skid plates and it does not hang past the opening in the plate. I hated making a mess all over the skid plate. I went with the nipple so I can just run hose down into the pan and be done with it.
You will have some trouble finding it as no one had the 102n. I'll pm you the guys info that I got mine from if you're interested.

I ordered mine here

http://lubricationspecialist.com/front/ ... parentid=0

someone here gave me the link when I was first looking into getting a CRD.

they list a CAT 2 micron fuel filter on that page too.... I wanted that as well but was not sure if it was a perfect fit so I called and asked. good I thing I did b/c it went with a conversion kit they don't sell for our CRD anymore.

I can get a fuel filter at NAPA for like $32 minus 7% AAA member discount.

I am going to put all this on before it gets cold so I don't have any routine stuff to do during the coldest months

I got the Fumoto for my Jeep early on and also put one on my semi. really good move. I also, haven't used the clip and never had a problem. I run the Jeep around my farm a lot, and I have dented the nipple on the valve. Not much of a dent but I used a small punch, I spread it out again. Soft brass is easy to reform. Have the nipple on the valve on my semi as well. Never any problem. I like the nipple feature only because it gives a little more gap between the lever and the flowing oil.
