I'm wondering if I'm having a compatibility issue with my garage door opener. I pulled my EVIC out of a '99 or '00 I think and my garage door opener was made in '06 and uses rolling codes (purple learn button). I'm seeing that you need different remotes depending on if your opener was made before or after 2005 and since the EVIC is older than 2005 maybe that's why it won't work? I thought I got it to open the garage door once but then it quit working and I haven't been able to make it work since. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I think if you have a garage door opener that is dynamic (frequency changes) then homelink (evic) won't work.

Keep trying. It should work. I have a 2002 KJ and mine works with rolling codes. It can be really finicky to program the Homelink, though. I had a really hard time getting mine to learn the codes the first time (that was 8 years ago now), but it did work eventually. But I got it on the first try when I replaced the garage door opener earlier this year. So if my 2002 Evic worked with a 1997 garage door opener and with a 2009 garage opener, yours ought to work too.

It works on mine. The frequency changes on mine.

Not only did I have to follow the directions to program the Homelink, I also had to do a couple of extra things per the instruction for my opener.

Also, when I was done, I pressed the utton and nothing happened. I thought I did something wrong. Before I went back and tried to redo everything, I decided to hold hold the button down and it worked.
