My Jeep is whining!

I'm getting a whining noise from what itseems to be the ac compressor. I also noticed that my mechanical fan in the front is not moving (does it only turn on when the engine gets hot?) I put a little lube on the bearings on the compressor and belt and it helped slightly. Any ideas on what it might be, or should I just swap a hemi and be done with it? :twisted:

The mechanical fan should turn all the time. It will engage when the engine gets hot but it always free spins.

Can you turn it by hand at all when the engine is OFF. It should have some resistance if the engine is cold..

i rather go with the hemi and be done with it.

Well if the dam things whinning do what I do to my kids when they whine, make them stand in the corner

Well good news is my heep is under warranty still so at the most it'll be $100.
