My factory orginall dc optima red topper dies today without any warning. Bu4ild jeep has a build date of 8/05 so 4 years and 57k hard miles was the best I could muster.
The oddesy looks good but over twice the price of an optima.
Costco has red tops for $115 a bat. Have to see what the group number is but that was a month ago I walked by the bread and saw them sitting there an took mental note.
Can't find an interstae with the cca and size to fit under the hood. Any thoughts? Replace with same?
For some fun I called to see what the dealer wanted, only $260.

I have a Walmart yellow top in mine, it is a size 25, it fits fine, little taller and barely touchs the hood insulation but has not been a issue. $75 bucks, great warranty and good cca

Go to Autozone (they must be using the same kind of dope as CARB) and they want around $195, $115 is a great price, I paid $135 on sale at Blaine's Farm and Fleet.
I think mine is a group 34.
Go to their web site and get the number from them.

The Red Ones were gone. I went there the other night and they only had a few yellow ones. Always out of something when I need it or when I don’t need it, there is no money to buy it.
Anyway, went with the MT34 from Interstate. Probably just as well. Spoke with some people and I agree when it comes to the Optima dieing without warning, just didn't sit well with me. I use the Jeep on the beach and had it occurred there it could have been a very costly dead battery. Never had issues with the old style. At least they gave a warning when they were about to die, slow crank, etc. Not the red topper. Just dead.
