Not sure what type of rack mine is, Coleman I think. I bought it used. Maybe you could turn it 90 deg. from the way I have mine mounted. You got a picture of the rack?

Is the problem that the bars are too narrow? I had to use some closed cell foam, glue it to the back of the can holder, to make it fit tight. It also keeps everything from getting scratched, and quiets any rattles. I cut up an old mouse pad. You can't see it in the pictures.

see how it's not a flat spot to just bolt up and it moves around when you bolt it up...

I had the same problem trying to mount it standing up. That's why I mounted it on the side. The only caveat to it laying on the side is that you have to use the metal bung, and not the spout. There are holes in the bottom you could possibly use, too, if you really want to mount it upright. Take a look at my pictures. I've moved it over since I took those. I'll get some newer ones posted later today.

How about making a plate to secure it to the side? Sort of like this: (Sorry, my photo editing skills are non-existent, but you get the idea)

i acutally tried that... but it till slides from side to side unless you basically crush the rack inbetween.
