confused ? what can be confusing? Buy 4 Hockey pucks, drill a hole through the center of each one, now remove the spring ( can do it with the spring in place but easier to remove, drill a hole through the middle of spring perch, paint it, reinstall the rear spring , now use a bolt 1/4 to 1/2 inch longer than the two hockey pucks ( 1.25 to 1.50 inch long bolt ) with a flat washer on top, lock washer and nut on the bottom. Put them inside of the spring bolt down through the hockey pucks and spring perch tighten and now do the other side. Nothing to it, very easy

Not a problem and not a pain, just giving you a hard time !! the spring perch is the sort of flat area that the bottom of the spring sits on

also, i found this daystar rear bumpstop.... part number KU09041 does anyone know if this will work if i for some reason fail at the hockey puck idea...

all j products has them for $25 a pair from shipping.. and rockey mountain suspension has them for $10... $20 a set plus shipping... the question i have is that the one that daystar shows has a screw on the bottom. is this right?

here is the link to their site...
http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/W_poly_bumpstops.htm

its always at the bottom of the page on the left side...

and tom mudd thanks for ALL of your help so far. definitly appriciate it. :D

No its welded to the housing, but with the spring out you can get in and drill a hole through it fairly easy

Some have even tried gluing them on but I would rather bolt it on and be sure it stays put

No not through the frame just through the metal that the hockey pucks are sitting on in the picture

okay gotcha... now how does that hold to the frame then.... would i have to glue it down or something? or does the weight of the spring just keep it down.... and how does the metal piece come off.

put something "slippery" on the front edge of the bumpstop, push the rear part up in, then start the front, can try pry bars back into the spring, some have used a shovel same way, whatever you can use to put some pressure on it. I also used a wide flat screwdriver to push right at the edge at the top to start it in

I used a shovel and it worked great. You put the tip of the shovel in the spring, then keep the lightly greased up bumpstop in place with one hand, pull up the shovels handle with the other and it pops right in.

mrneen...while I was fooling around with the paint program...maybe this helps you understand how the rear bumpstops work. You can reach the underside of the spring purch to fit the nut.
