Power, Heated, Auto Dim mirror anyone?

Some mush-head came by last night / early this morning and whacked my drivers side mirror.

The jerk left the broken piece of my mirror and the remains of his, but no contact info! :evil:

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement without resorting to the stealership or paying retail? I've looked around online, but I can't find one that auto-dims anywhere. Maybe some of you guys have some "secret" parts-places that you wouldn't mind sharing...? Thanks everyone!

I don't think I've ever heard of an exterior rearview mirror that "auto dims". Are the Liberty's exterior mirrors heated?

I suggest you open the yellow pages and look for salvage yards in your area. You should be able to find a replacement there plus maybe a few more items (i.e.: new rims).

I've never heard of auto dimming side view mirrors. I have an '02 Limited and it has power heated side view mirrors, but they don't auto dim.

My driver side mirror as well as my interior rear view mirror are auto-dim. They came from the factory like that. The two exterior mirrors are also heated and turn on when the defroster is activated.

The yellow/green liquid you see is the photo-electric fluid which causes the mirror to dim. It's sandwiched between a circuit board and the glass. When headlights hit it, it dims the mirror to cut out glare. The wavy lines going into the square indicate that the mirror is heated.

I would double check on the auto-dim. Even my LTD doesn't have that.

It does say auto dim on the mirrors. Hmmm interesting.

Thanks edvalencia. I was expecting it to be pricey, but not quite that high! The last time this happened, I got really lucky! I found one on eBay that day for a buy it now price of $45. Not so lucky now. None of them have the auto-dim on eBay :cry:

wow, autodim must be a rare option. i thought it would have been standard on a loaded limited or anything with a heated mirror

Would the auto-dim side mirrors on the 09 KK fit? It's on option on those models.

Mine are power heated on the exterior but not auto-dim. That would definitely be a feature I would want though if it was reasonably priced.

WOW I never heard or an auto dim side mirror. I have an auto dim rearview I know that for sure. I have to look at my Liberty again to see what I have. I think I have just heated power, and my Limited has nearly everything but built in sirius and U-connect bluetooth.

I knew some libertys had auto dim side mirrors but for some reason I thought it was export only. Our WK has the auto dim wide mirror and its pretty sweet, really helps.

my 12/02 build date 2003 Limited has exterior auto dim/heated.
