Well, I made the mistake, a while ago, of lending our '04 Liberty to my wife's sister while she visited us here in Hawaii. Don't usually do something stupid like that but she couldn't afford a rental and the F150 and MC were both out of the question. Problem is, when she returned the car, the clutch would no longer fully disengage. Don't know what she did to it but the clutch now needs to be adjusted and I can't figure out how to do it in my manual. Maybe just bleed the clutch system? Doesn't look like that can be done as there is no bleeder on the slave cylinder that I can see.
What can be done? (short of replacing the clutch disk)
Thanks and ALoHa,
Rico

Worn clutch disk doesn't make sense because my wife's dog hauler only has about 40k miles and the problem isn't a slipping or high engaging clutch. It's just that the clutch doesn't fully dis-engage (I'd think that would be the opposite of a worn out clutch. I've never heard of a clutch adding friction material to itself through abuse but then again, i learn something new each day).
Been driving it that way for a while. It's a real pain to get into gear from a dead stop. Once moving it's not too bad to shift (double clutching for down-shifts) and there's absolutely no slip under any circumstances.
Bad master cylinder makes more sense but it looks like a sealed system in that there doesn't appear to be a means to bleed it.
Can the system be bled?
Is there a bleed valve on the slave cylinder that I missed?
Thanks and ALoHa,
Rico

There is no adjustment per-say,you either have a fried clutch(worn) or a bad/leaky clutch master cylinder/slave cylinder.

Oopsie...I remember a thread from some time ago from a guy in South Africa that had that problem.

In the end it was a piece of the pressure bearing that broke of and fel in the pressure plate inhibiting it to fully disengage....

But maybe your problem is only in the master or slave cilinder....

You cannot take those apart, they are sold as a set.
