Any Hockey Fans out there?

lol normally the goal tender is just bit too buzzed to stand any more cause he can't sweat it off so it normaly turn out to be a game of posts. lol ya hit the post its a goal...........

but now mind ya those are usually the real late games in the crappy rinks at times no one wants like at 3 am :roll:

I never knew hockey was interesting until I stumbled upon it while searching my 9 billion channels looking for something interesting to watch. I don't have a team I root for, I just like to watch it and see people get pummeled.

I'll sign up too! Only been ice skating once though. But we played street hockey a lot though!

go to your local rink and check out the adult pick up leauges, once ya get in for a while get to know the guy that knows the owner of the rink then those are the fun games when everyone leaves and the owner says "make sure ya pick up your cans, clean up any blood, shut off the lights and lock the doors boys, see ya tomorrow" hahahaha that makes my heart all warm and fuzzy hahahaha :twisted:

Ha, I don't think we have any rinks like that here in the sunshine state.
We have 1 rink that I know of and that rink is an hours drive or more away.

Man, you have two NHL teams in your state! Granted both suck, but the Lightning won the cup not to long ago. I don't know why there aren't more hockey fans? Maybe its the rules, or the people still miffed about the strike awhile back.

I knew we had one. The barracudas. But I didn't know if they were NHL or not.

We used to have the Lizard Kings but they were replaced by the barracuds....I like the lizard kings better.

ya that is one major problem I saw and thought of while on vacation in the Keys a few years ago. I love it there but couldn't live there unless I could skate at least a few months out of the year but then again I play roller hockey also so maybe when I get really old :lol:

Oh man, dream of dreams to build my own rink. Does any one have a few million I can borrow? I promise once the rink is built ya can skate for free and yes I will buy the beer :wink:

Geaux Red Wings!! I also don't mind watching the Canucks now and again, too. I have never attended a hockey game nor have I ever seen a lake or pond frozen over enough to skate on. But when I was a kid I used to play NHL on the original Nintendo and always played as the Red Wings. Steve Yzerman, Sergei Fedorov, man those guys were unstoppable. We don't normally get a lot on TV down here till around playoff time, so that's when I start watching - in between the end of March Madness and the College World Series.

I am a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Now, before you laugh, please understand that I was born into this condition, at a time when the Leafs were actually respected and won the Stanley Cup they year before I came into this world.

Any Toronto fan will understand, that once you are in you can't get out. It doesn't matter how badly they play, or whether they make the playoffs or not.

The most important thing to a Leaf fan of course is beating Ottawa.

My family has shared season's tickets with 3 others for as long as I can remember and every year they squeeze more money out of us for the same mediocre product, but we keep going.

Why? Because it's what we do here in Toronto

The Colorado Rockies were the first NHL team that I loved. And please don't assume that I'm talking about the baseball team. But then they moved to New Jersey and my hockey interest had to be filled with minor league stuff for the rest of my young life.

I do have to admit that, although a Colorado die-hard, I too played as the Red Wings in the early NHL video games. Keith Primeau, Bob Probert, etc., etc. What a crew.

After CO got the Avs from Quebec, I stayed true to my state. I was so excited when the Wings and the Avs played each other in the post season that year...

...and then came the Blood Feud.

Since then it's been hard to explain the fact that I love the Avs and I still love the Wings. But, when they're playing, I'm wearing my Adam Foote, Avs jersey. My old Paul Coffey, Wings jersey stays in the closet.

I didn't catch this the first time through. You need to do a google search man! Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning. Minor League hockey is fun to watch though, they are usually more agressive.

I'm a Washington Capitals fan...went to opening night when they beat Toronto. Next game for me is 12 Monday, no work Tuesday, when they play the NJ Devils. I think hockey is one of the most under-rated sports out there, it's non-stop action from beginning to end.
