Hey

just started thinking about a lift for my jeep. Looking at pics of all the cool lifted jeeps, now I would like mine lifted too... I know I will need new tires in a year give or take and figure if I lift I will want new bigger tires so I would like to look into what lifts will work for me and see if I can save to get both at the same time.

I would not want anything insanely high, 2 inch shoud do it. I don't have an idea on budget yet, less $$$ would be best and I don't want something that will make the jeep handle poorly and ride real rough but still look good and be able to handle off road better than stock.

as I started looking on the internet there is so much to choose from.

not really very many choices since you have a CRD, your best bet would be the OME CRD coils with Ranchos shocks all the way around, it will run you about $650-700 shipped. If you decide to go with the OME coils give Dirk a call at DPG Off Road.com (316-776-9900) and he will set you up with the coils you need.

THanks :D

I have read on one of the sites I was looking at on lunch break today that this was a good lift and it did not make the jeep ride or handle bad. I also see that there are budget lifts out there too and the Frankenlift. I want to see that others have found works before I decide what to go for.

so the $650+ for OME includes shocks and struts?

That would pretty much cover everything
The Frankenlift is OME springs as well but higher priced. Due to the CV on the drivers side you can only lift it so much as it is.

Budget lifts are just that a cheap alternative to get you by. With the weight of the CRD I would go full spring kit then no sagging a year down the road and the need to redo it again

Well in that case I will take note of that.. I am not one that likes to do things over when I could have done it right the first time around. So this will not only lift me it will be a new suspension too.

I see the kit a DPG's site for $744 w/OME shocks and struts. I am guessing I can make my own package with the ones I want.. Really that price is alot but its not so bad when you consider you are getting a lift and new suspension to replace worn parts as well.
