Hopefully the final post. The dealer narrowed down the short to about 3 feet of wire. They replace the section and now everything works! ABS, ESP, even Cruise control. They did observe a 1 second event where they lost power to some systems, but have not been able to reproduce it. The service manager will take the CRD home - about 60 mile round trip - and see if the short happens again.

Fat lady did not sing yet. They are still having problems with PCM or PMC communication. They are loosing it intermittently. Dealer is still trying to diagnose this.

Fat lady finally sung. Two more broken wires near the rear diff. and every thing is good. $550 later, I have ABS, Cruise Control, life is good.

All Set for a trip to Moab with the family next weekend. Can't wait!!
