Oh, put in an offer on a 1990 YJ, needs motor, windshield and some other things, but decent body, almost no body rust.

He accepted my offer, now I'm not so sure... DOH!!! It would definitely be a project. it really needs painted, but body is pretty straight and only rust is on bent front fender so thats good especially in the rust belt. Will look more if I go buy it.

I always hate to buy something that someone else tore apart, then you have to find electrical connections/ bolts etc to put it all back together. But if the price is right , what the heck. You know he doesn't want to mess with it any longer, looks like its sitting at a apartment complex so they want it moved as well!

Tom now worries, it's all together other than the front seat is held up by a 2x4 cause the mount is broken. It runs, just a lower motor knock he tells me. His story is he drove it up until late July when motor started knocking, then parked it. Was going tobe Father-daughter project, but they have no time/money. I did see he is truthful, rearend looks new and transfer case looks redone. Will need windshield, seat fixed, and the motor rebuilt before it is driveable, may go looky tomorrow. I'll lightly sand and shoot in flat black if nothing else for a while then get my heighbor to paint fo rme!!

Hi Tahoe, Scott (1996xj) and I have had some experiences with what sounds like a knock in the crankshaft which actually turned out to be a faulty water pump in a couple of 4.0 Jeep Cherokees. I'm not saying it doesn't need repair, but unless you start it and idle it with the serpentine belt off, you really don't know for sure. I would have bet my lunch money it was the crank, boy would I have been wrong. Best of luck! Towstrap

Thanks Jim, guy wont return my emails, think I ticked him off so I maynot get it. It's the 4.2L, not sure when they switched to the 4.0. Would make a good trail jeep as it's kind of rough. I may pass anyway and get something little better condition as momma wants to drive it to work in summer...takes my toys again!!! :(

Since no one is posting on here anymore I will talk to myself!!!!

A)Well this weekend you did well Tom with one LJ lift done.
B)You also packed up 50 lbs of things to send to your wife and bought a new camera for some friends in the Safari business
C)You were also getting the garage ready for a lift on Boilers KJ next Friday.
D)then you'll load the tools for a road trip to Plymouth Michigan to help do a lift and rock rails up there for a fellow KJ owner from KJ Country
E)If you have time ( I hope you do ) then you'll be checking out Bundy Hill Off Road Park Saturday afternoon.

Always something to do for sure isn't there.
Well Tom have a great evening. Take a break and relax will ya??!!

Next time I'll tell you what the Blonde said to the priest.
