It works. I've done:
MN to Raleigh, NC
Raleigh to PA to MN

Both were straight through... With a wife, dog, and cat. None of which were too happy.

Heck, even the cop that pulled me over for 80-somthing in a 65 let me go.

He asked where we were coming from. So I told him Raleigh, via PA. He said, "No, I mean where did you start from today?" I shook my head...

We were in Indiana. He didn't believe me. So I showed him my "collection" of Monster energy drink cans.

The wife and I drove from Nashua, New Hampshire to Colorado Springs, Co in 22 hours, in November, straight thru. Only stopping to do #1 or #2, eat (drive thru) except once in Indiana and I wished we would have used drive thru, but we were in a Ford Explorer (rental). Anything doing that long is worth doing as fast as possible to get it over with so you can buzz for a day or so.

How many tickets did you get on the way?
You would have had to average over 93 mph to drive that far in 22 hours.

Ok I just got corrected by the little wifey with a way better memory, it was 36 hours, of strait driving. And yeah we were moving, no tickets.

I think your wifey is correct. Man, I was doing the math on that trip and figured you were going over 90 MPH for 22 hours. I was going to ask what you were driving. Now with your wife's calculations, it's down to 57 MHP. That sounds mo-better. :D

We should rename this post " How far I went going this fast". Kinda funny, guess I'm bored. Moved from NH to Arizona back in 98, stopped in Upstate NY, Columbus, Ohio to see friends then started chugging in my 97 TJ. Think it took me all told 5 days, but I stopped one night in a hotel, they were having a corvette convention, in the lobby they were showing that elvis movie where he was a driver. Anyway, my brother in law at the time had a bet with my cousin that I would get a ticket, going across, I didn't. Nothing like herds of elk running across the road at night, you haven't slept in 24 hours, your in New Mexico, driving in the middle of the road and ain't stopping until you cross into arizona, then pass out for 4 hours. good times. After that trip I had a sinus infection and didn't sleep right for days. I looked like this...

dude, do the math... you drove 999 miles in 11 hours from Atlanta to San Antonio... that's like going 90.8 miles per hour for 11 hours..... and pulling a trailer.... are you sure about that?

Well, if you want to bring "Other" vehicles into it...

I took my brand new SRT-4 from St. Paul, to Bridgeport, CA. Only stopping for gas, food, and water.
Top speed was between SLC, Utah and the border (salt flats area of Hwy 80)... 148mph.
Only because of the cute girl in the Porsche that passed me, slowed down, passed me, slowed down... I felt like I was in a Nat'l Lampoons movie. lol.

I must say, I held my own. I only backed off, because I needed gas, and wasn't sure where the next pump was...

EDIT: RICKM - Where the H3LL did you do your speed test at? Please tell me that is a work ISP or something...That is sick!!!

no, actually, that is from my home. I signed up for Comcast Business Service at my home.

I was on dialup for a long time. Then my Internet Provider started providing a faster wireless service, so I signed up for that years ago. It was 768k up, and 768k down. It wasn't the best service, but it's about all I could get where I lived.

Finally another company bought our my Internet Service Provider. They promised that they were going to provide all of the wireless customers with 1.5 Mbit downlink. But their service got really bad. It seemed that for a long time, my wireless service was offline, more than online.

I finally got fed up with it and called Comcast. I don't have cable TV service at my house. I told them that I wanted a fixed IP address, so they hooked me up with their business class internet service at my house. It cost more than my previous service, but it's never offline or down. I can stream movies, or video or music, or whatever I want to stream from the internet. Downloads are very fast also. Their customer service has real live people for their business class customers that actually answer the phone and help you out 24 hours a day.

I think it's costing me $25 a month more than my previous wireless service, but well worth it to me.
