How about the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500? Awesome vehicle made by a pro with a solid track record. Ford would probably do right by Jeep, also. (O.K., so I'm a Ford man)

The Shelby is a bit overpriced for what you get.

 They're all overpriced for what you get. Some more than others.

Ahh my dear AZKJ- you did not learn when the stinking spark plug was not needed and therefore handed to you.

A diesel in the Neatus Jeep new style "J10" would be perfect especially when you figure full size features like towing/ hauling, handling gets merged with mileage in the high twenties/ low thirties, longevity, durability and that uberperformance tingle knowing you are turbocharged (maybe duoturbos), euro-influenced (fiat, Bosch, VM Motori) ecu's, ultrahigh pressure injectors and....... gosh I can go on and on!

... except Harley isn't doing so well these days, either, which is why they discontinued their Buell line and sold off MV Agusta (which I think they just bought less than a year ago, it seems).

I'm very sad to see the Viper go. I know it's a niche vehicle that only a few can afford, but the waiting list on one of those things would suggest that the factory was always busy making them, so it seemed they could sell as many as they could produce with their current setup.

I actually like the looks of the Sebring and Avenger. I think it makes sense to get rid of one or the other, but not both. Same with the Compass and Patriot; get rid of one or the other, but not both. Getting rid of the Dakota doesn't make much sense either, unless they plan to introduce something to take its place.

not sure about that, i mean, the H3 pick up didn't sell and its because it was an H3, if Jeep made one, it would not sell because it is a Jeep...real pick-ups are the only ones that should even be made/sold...

and that Alfa Romeo looks awesome!

I would buy a Jeep with a pickup bed like this

and killing the Viper is sad:( I think every brand should have one uber exciting, super fast, tire smoking hard to attain vehicle in the line up....

The more I see of the KK models (I hope I'm not steaming anyone's vegetables here, but I suspect I'll catch flak. That's okay, flak vest is on), the more annoyed I get about the whole corporate move to 'align' models across production facilities and call a Dodge Nitro a Jeep Liberty. If they let me alone in the room with whomever dreamed that stupidity up, I'd slap 'em silly!
I sincerely hope that Jeep comes out of this with a healthy lineup of robust vehicles instead of more pseudo-crap attempts to copy Japanese vehicles. When they gonna learn to dance with what brung ya?

As for the Gladiator, don't hold your breath -- everything points to the fact that it will very probably never see production. Shame really, because I find it a very acceptable solution to so many problems...

How about someone just get an XJ and start working on this whole Gladiator thing themselves? I'm sure you can build it!! :) When you get done then you can be like Wow..I'm the only one with a Gladiator..Now it's time to watch em thirst for it!! :P Like a pack of hungry wolves on a poor defenseless cow..

The only vehicle I think they should keep is the Dakota. Okay, possibly the Avenger. As for the rest of them, I wouldn't by one.

I'm a huge fan of the AEV Brute. It's really a shame Jeep doesn't seize the opportunity to put it into mass production. Hell, it would use 90% of the Wrangler's tooling. That would save them some pretty good overhead. Clearly there's a market for it if AEV can profit from selling a kit.

With all the Jeep owners/lovers out there, we should all get together and buy stock so we can control Jeep and turn it into what it SHOULD be. (Just a pipe dream, I'm sure)

I wish. That thing would even convert some of those subaru drivers over to Jeep. I could live with that.

Ummm... the Patriot is a re-hashed Caliber, so it already does sell on some other line besides Jeep.

And that Phoenix thing is the ugliest POS since the smart. Subaru sells so few cars it is laughable, and someone wants to be like them?

The current Dakota is too big and has too much crossover with the Ram. If anyone still made a true mini truck, they might do well.

The unfortunate thing is that if any company's reliability could make ChryCo's seem great, it is FIAT. They have a decades long rep for bringing the suckage worldwide.

Jeep: it was fun while it lasted.
