I have never encoutered the dreaded "shutter"...stock/segr or now GDE HOT. I have not done super hard top end runs nor towed with the new tune...so I can not say for sure what will happen. I can say that the drivetrain feels super smooth with this tune...it almost disquises the power increases because it does run very smooth.

***All this said with less than 250 miles on the tune***

The mileage figures made me think the tune is worth if just for the MPG gains. The better driveability and increased power are an added bonus.

I have the 'eco' tune (I think) and I can get the shudder when pulling my trailer under 2000 rpm and the torque converter locked up. Under this condition (heavy load / steady rpm) the engine truly generates its maximum torque and overpowers the torque converter damper. Unloaded, the engine will quickly move out of the damper resonance rpm range by accelerating the vehicle.

I'll wait for the hot tune until I can explain to my wife that I need another torque converter. That will be t/c #4 for me and #3 is running just fine except when towing. If I need to tow, I also have a 3.0L Grand Cherokee.

Um, I just got a slight shudder this morning in 4th gear cruising at 50 then stepping into it. Maybe my day of reckoning is getting closer.

One thing I noticed with the Hot tune, it is a lot easier to make a left turn into traffic, the pick up is right there.

Oh I have almost been killed on left turns. Nothing like that lag to make you load your pants as oncoming traffic blares their horns.

Unplug your MAF sensor on the airbox and you will see how it is to drive without that dreaded dead spot on acceleration.

On another note...I can get the shudder under hard acceleration in the 50 mph region +/- 5mph. It does make me drive a bit easier, which is a good thing. (24.02mpg on last city stop n' go tank)

I have unplugged the sensor, so I know what you mean. I have it in now until I figure out what I want to do with these other mods people are talking about.

I have been happy with everything up to 75000 miles.
