My 2005 liberty came with factory window tint on all the windows except the windshield, and the two-front side windows. I would like to get some window tint on the front-side windows and get the new window tint to match the factory window tint.
If anyone can give me some info about the % of tint of the liberty windows so that I could match them myself or tell the tinting shop the percentage so they won't screw up and match it wrong.

Any info is great! THANKS

In your state the law requires 25% or more light transmission. The rear windows on your liberty is less than that, so you won't be able to get same look front and rear. Window tint comes in 2.5, 5, 20 and 35% (that I know of). 35% looks OK, the rear windows darken the interior so it appears darker than 35. The biggest mistake IMHO is getting a tint of a different color. I dont mean the obvious blue, green, and red tint, but the cheap stuff at the store for $10 a roll that has a purple or green tint when held next to factory tint. Factory is almost colorless and so are good quality tints at professional shops.

here in CO they will not pull you over just for the percent of tint you have but if they pull you over for speeding and they can notice the tint then they will have no problem giving you a ticket for the tint as well, look at the statutes in your state and see what you can and cant do or heck just even ask a police officer about it. My old Mazda Mx-6 had 15% and i was not pulled over once and i loved how no one could see me. This summer i will be putting tint on my two front windows like you but im going to have the tint guy match my tint with my back windows....we have this done on all of our vehicles in my family and no one has recieved a ticket yet.

I do agree with libby on this though.....have a professional do it....quality counts and you can really see the difference.... i was priced out at 75 bucks for my two front windows so just shop around. And always tip your helpful rofessional ;)
