I recently fitted a suction fuel pump in the engine bay which it was designed for.
The spec says that it is a suction pump and not a pressure pump. The pressure pump has a slightly different spec in pressure only but delivers the same volume per hour.
So, does it make any difference by doing this except that the pump is sucking the fuel instead of creating a positive pressure when installed in tank or close to the tank.
Mackruss, people go all about telling that the pump is not good if installed in the engine bay, bolloks ! I have had a facet pump for almost a year now and since i ve installed it, had to prime my filter 0 times ! I ve checked a few times to crack the bleeder open, no air came out.
Since the install of the pump, no air has been found in my filter.
Not to mention that the cos of a facet pup (bout 50-60 bucks in the US) is MUCH cheaper, you don`t have to drop the tank and easier to install than an intank.
Perk your ears, i m not saying that the intank pump is not the way togo !... al im saying is that for little money, give it a chance. Worked flawlessly for me.
