The only thing I'd say about Loco's last comment about the problems that dcx has had and which GDE say is nothing to do with their tune, is that this happens; sometimes a number of things go wrong at once that are not necessarily linked.
The tc shudder was never going to be cured by the tune: it occurs at a specific engine/road speed/ load combination(does to me anyway), and the only cure is a different tc - either the Euro Mopar or the Suncoast.
Incidentally, I am neither a mechanic or engineer, so what do I know?

My point exactly, but if you read the several infomercials...err..I mean threads about GDE impressions you might think there is a cure for everything...
C'mon Loco. . . if the posts about the GDE tune seem like Billy Mays pitching the guy that pitches Shamwow, it is
not because any users were paid or otherwise coerced into giving support. It is because the tune literally does make an impressive difference, particularly over stock - and is a boon to those of us intimidated by the thought of splicing into our wiring harness to install the SEGR. (I was one of those. . . bad experience with a $850 repair on a Mazda) Also, GDE has been extremely helpful in offering advice to all members on this board regardless of whether they are customers or not. IMHO, they not only have a good product, but are good forum members as well.
As far as the TC goes, everything mechanical has its limits. If I'm towing a 6000 lb trailer and get it to 65 mph in 5th gear lockup on a 10 percent grade, I get what I deserve, regardless of the tune. What I personally was trying to communicate in my book of a post is the comparison between Inmotion's torque delivery and the GDE tune's torque delivery. If I understand the Inmotion tune correctly (granted, I may not) it increases torque delivery at all ranges, whereas the GDE Eco-tune modulates torque delivery at shift points (since that is controlled on our ECU's) and in lockup conditions to try to avoid shudder. If you're trying to spread butter on bread with a torn-up knife, more butter helps but it will still tear up the bread if you keep spreading, you know? There is no substitute for properly vetted mechanical components.
Now, if these guys can crack the TCM, I may spike my hair and get a wireless headset mic. . . .
