I'm assuming window regulator from all the posts. Now coming from mostly ford mechanic background I'm assuming that its going to be a few bolts and some rivets and the unit comes out. If there is more to it please let me know, also what are the general price for these units at a local parts store? The Jeep has a warranty, but when I called they said that it would cost 250+ with the warranty as the glass needed to be replaced. So I'm here to check to see if its worth my time to just do the darn thing myself.

Thanks!

I have an 06 with 50k miles. My 9th window reg went out this week. I am looking for a way to simply clip the window in the up position (front passanger). The former dodge dealer in town wants 450 bucks to fix. Something tells me the "fix" will break again soon!

Did you install the other ones? and if so does the assembly use rivets? I had a manual rivet tool but they grew legs and walk around the time I left the dealer I worked for. Go figure.

Im assuming since I have a December 2005 built 2006 that I can get a 2002-2005 regulator. Since most, including the steiger site, say pre march 2006 builds are lumped in with the older ones. If so Ill grab one off ebay now.

Pretty sure that should work. The Steiger kit is a good deal if you haven't sucked the cable too far into the housing. I finally finished installing my wifes regulator yesterday. Too many other things kept getting in the way.
If you can't finish it, you can cable tie the window up in the closed position. door panel off, wrap a long cable tie down into the door around the window reg. mount and zip it tight.

 get a manager and tell them you want it fixed and will not pay the $250. that's what a warranty is for... for when faulty products break. If it's still under warranty no way would i pay for a window regulator fix.

x2 on that. If the regulator breaks, the new one does require a new window too. But the window is covered for the regulator warranty. I had i replaced under my 3/36 warranty with the new style. No cost to me. Had 3 others replaced before that with the old style replacement.
