I had my KK in for an oil change and tire rotation today. Once i took it and got on the highway, the engine now has a loud, throaty sound to it??? I used the same Mobile 1 5W20 and Mobile 1 Filter as always. Could the filter be defective and causing this? The extra noise is only audible when you go over about 3,000 RPM then it sounds louder like maybe a cool air intake was put on or something. Could the filter be defective and making the engine sound this way? Also they were recommending the throttlebody and fuel injector service so i thought maybe they didnt put the air intake back on the throttlebody tight but i checked my air filter and where the tube connects to the throttlebody and it was tight. Was also thinking maybe an exhaust leak? It would just be really random that it was fine when they pulled it in and the BAM its loud after it leaves. Any ideas?

i mean this may sound dumb but it could be the weather... its getting cooler now and your intake could pull in more air... you sure the K&N is oiled right and everything? and as far as any other services done was there any?

Truck was sitting for about 1 Hour and a Half. The temp gauge was about 1/8th around with 4/8th being normal warmup temp. Checked the oil twice and the stick's oil was a little above the SAFE mark. If the SAFE mark is say 1 centimeter then the oil was about 1/2 centimeter above the SAFE mark. Any ideas?

at any point the oil is warm it will expand... you need to check oil when the engine is cold

Check the air box and the intake hose to make sure everything was installed correctly

I checked the oil cold this morning after it was sitting all night and its still above SAFE. Like i said before its about 50% of the length of the SAFE Zone above SAFE if you can get what i mean. I checked the filter yesterday, ill have to take another look at after work today in the light so i have a better look since it was dark when i looked yesterday

Ok you did check to make sure the Air filter was still in place.
That is step one....

Step 2 you checked the Oil good.

Step 3. you did make sure all the fitting are tights and no hoses are left off or pintched.

Step 4. umm remove the Air filter and see if changes in the drive way..

Step 5. umm not sure yet, let me get a beer and think about it.

Please send a Beer my way. But, like i said the Oil is a little over SAFE which i hope is fine, I quickly checked the air intake that goes into the throttlebody with the metal clip that you tighten with a screw driver and that was tight, ill have to recheck everything. I removed the air filter and put it back in same thing.
