Help... anyone.

Since we got hit hard with a snow storm, I decided to use the 4 wheel drive on my Liberty CRD for the first time today, and when I went to engage the lever, it felt like the handle detached itself from something below as if it is loose, getting stuck in 4 wheel low and will not disengage. What could have happened?
Anybody?

Most likely the end of the cable popped off the lever on the transfercase. Pop it back on :D

Well it's repaired.

Mechanic replaced the detached plastic retainer thing.

All's well in the world again.
