Sorry for getting WAY off topic. I really like the bumper. I wish there was one for the Trō.

ALl I know is I like where this is going with the KK bumper and after totally rocking the Super Skinks, the work is amazing and I wouldn't expect anything less from Rock Lizard. I really hope this is a viable reality. I'm staying in touch with this one. :CAMPING:

Nice job R.L.! Please keep us updated on the progress. In the KK photo, was the little lower cooling unit covered by the new bumper or removed for the mounting? I don't see it in the photos. Will there be new locations to remount my tow hooks or should I start looking to put those up for sale opting for the welded eye holes as recovery hardware attachment points. I think you'll have a lot of interest in this project for sure. 8)

It's looking very good. I'd be interested once I see it finished.

Hey, just to answer your Q, as the test mule for the bumper that day, all we removed was the tow hooks and front bumper. The RL bumper used the same holes as the tow hooks, could they be re-used? maybe? I guess with longer bolts. I think thats why he provides shackle provisions out front. The power steering cooler is still there just can't be seen by the angle of pic because of angle of driveway. Yeah, that bumper will look really good on a KK. 8)

Will the KK new bumper be able to have option to help protect the front cooling systems.
like Power steering and radiator?

The factory set up on 2008 and 2009 sucks for protecting these item low down.

it seem a nice slotted peice could be bolted on.
For an extra cost.....

The airbag sensors are located on the back of the cross member, on the both sides of the radiator, and inboard of the front lamps. Bumper mods should not affect the sensor, as long as you keep the heat away from them during the build.
#1 in this Pic. This is from the KA, but the KK location is the same.

LOL and what is with the, clicking on submit and it just brings you back to the thread, with no post being posted?
Then I hit back, and hit preview and, then hit submit and it posted 2 times. Or you hit submit and it takes you back to the thread with no post. Exit the thread, open it back up, then it will submit a reply post just fine. Why don't the little Pics work in the quotes?

This happens to me 1 out of every 3-4 times. REALLY ANNOYING. Anyways, I am very much so looking forward to this front bumper project. Need to find someone to build me a roof basket with the dimensions I want. Not difficult, just don't know anyone that won't charge in excess of $1k! Seriously, they're all rip-off artists here.

Definitely interested but want to see a version fully fulfilled and integrated for the KK. If I like, I'd put down money up front if that will expedite getting first KK production run done.

As for integrated fog lights into the bumper, I have been talked into making it an option, but you will not be able to reuse the factor 02-04 fogs, the bumper is just too small. I can put 4" port holes in the wings near the where they begin to sweep back like this picture that was sent to me asking if I could do it:

Image

It will be a $125 upgrade just for the integrated port holes, and I will have two light options available; a simple set of $25 WalMart lights and $150 PIAAs. The walmart lights as about as good as the factory fogs if not better from hooking them up to my own jeep, and they are 4" round. The PIAA's are 0492 004XJ Xtreme Whites http://www.piaa.com/Lamps/Lamp-pages/004xt.html . I could do the PIAA 510's, but as you can see the mounting bracket is different, so I would need alter the mount in the bumper for them to work. http://www.piaa.com/Lamps/Lamp-pages/510.html
There will only be those three options for lights as I am not going to customize every single bumper. Custom fab will cost $$$$$$$$$$$ so if willing to pay, then I am willing to play.
