Well since helping a friend do an engine and trans swap, work on his RV and then helped him drive it to California to his new duty station, I finally spent some time on my baby

: after driving friends truck and noticing that his 1997 headlights were about as good as mine, priced fog lights (OEM) @ $238, too much cabbage right now

, went to 4WD parts and bought a set of 55 watt Pro Comp driving lights and mounted them for now on either side of front license plate hanging down in front of PS cooler opening. Those stupid things are brighter than the headlights. Was worried about wiring

, said screw it and got er done. Mounted switch inside cubby on left side of steering wheel. Went to pepboys and bought 9.99 front seat covers similar to smittybuilt and rugged ridge ones, drawstrings on sides, pockets on front and sides of seat and back. Love em. Had to modify to fit around seatbelt, thank god army taught me how to do field sewing repair. Then I got real crazy

and thought I could modify the stock intake tube using the throttle body end and the air box end, well hours later and a few returned elbow tubes later I did

. And BTW I was at pepboys for a few hours here in springs and decided to save time ( I thought

) getting my oil changed there....I could have dug the hole, struck oil, barrelled it, refined it and made an oil filter before these guys got done

. And oh yeah, I had noticed my Jeep with 8000 miles on it had developed an oil leak, huh, kinda funny. Asked the pepboy tech about the oil leak and filter, yeah he said he was able to take it off by hand, thanks dealership d%$#*&bags

. Is there any pride in work any more

? Man pretty soon I may have to build my own cars cuz ...I could rant on and on. Anyway, all this TLC was in preparation to drive

to Phoenix where I am now, BTW it was 70 degrees

out today for you Colo guys and gals and other generally freezing your axles off. Here to help some family. The trip was fine, except that during cleaning I must have hit the 4x4 shift switch cuz an hour or so in the ESP light kept coming on and then the serv 4 wd soon. Figured it out, reset trans, ran it in 4 hi, 4 lo then back to 2 hi, purred like a kitten the rest of way, made good mpg too. Well the downhill helped! Got some pics, will post when back from trip, man this thing has more power captain, here in AZ

.
