Turning Off ESP COMPLETELY

There might be a way to totally disable it with a KJ since there is a fix if you own a charger, magnum, or 300c.

How ever with the KK, it would seem if the abs fuse is pulled, it will also take out the speedo and maybe the brake lights........

What I did in my 06kj was use a fix I found on a charger forum. I put a switch on the power wire for the gyroscope that is under the center console. If I remember correctly it is a purple wire that I switched. When I flip it off I can have all the fun I want with no abs or traction control. To make all of the systems work again you need to turn the jeep off and then turn it back on. Took me about half hour to complete.

my understanding of that gyroscope is it's function since it showed up in Dodge trucks in the late 90's is to lock the seat belts in the case of roll over. It caused a lot of hoopla with the Ram Stealthbox application when they showed up.

When the transfer case is in 4lo, most of ESP functions are disabled. What about wiring a switch to fool the ECU that the transfer case is in 4lo even when its not...i have not had the occasion to try this, its too cold over here and i dont have a garage.

You don't have ESP in your KJ,did not come around till model year '06.

Still does not shut it off 100%.Then you got the 4low light engaged all the time in the cluster.It's easy to do anyways,just buy a new t-case selector switch,unplug the connector from the one it your t-case(must remain there so the t-case does not leak),hook up the new selector switch and zip tie out of the way.With the plunger at full extension it will tell the PCM the t-case is in 4-low.

when the transfer case is in 4lo it shuts the ESP off in the same manor as it does when you push the ESP off button on the dash.

Not sure if anyone is interested, I just turned of esp completely on the KJ 07 model CRD, using proline adapter and autoenginuity. Slight problem, I cant turn it back on...... arrrrrgh.... got those pesky 3 lights on all the time now.
