I let the oil fill nozzle in the valve cover. Turned it on and it went boom. It is the first and only time I have heard a diesel sound like a lawn mower

It was a chain reaction, the nozzle knocked the bridge off of the exhaust valves, the keepers came off of the valve seams which let the valves drop. Piston comes up, takes out the head and cracks the block all in one go. Then it sucks all 9 gallons of coolant out of the cooling system and takes out the oil cooler. Also took out the cam when the block went......

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I was so tired that night.... I regretted it every day I went to work...

Well guys, I survived the trip home. The Blizzaks were awesome, managed 45 mph on packed snow for an hour with very little concern. Even doing some brake checks it really stopped well. The wind on I-70 kept me to about 60 mph. It was really pushing me around.

But Boilers
What you mean is "I bet that anal-retentive nitpicker freaked out!"

I left Scott's and within about 5 minutes had some loose clunking at bumps, finally one big CLUNK and then my brakes were grinding bad after that. Pulled into the NoTel Motel and waited for Scott to come rescue me, with one of Towstrap's bolts in hand. Went back to his place to check over everything (and get the coolers I forgot) and then headed out again.

Scott was awesome today (except for 2 bolts  ). I had been talking to Jim about meeting to copy his bumper trimming and somehow (read: I asked him to) I ended up at Scott's with him doing 4 sets of pads and rotors, plugging my tire pressure sensor light in my instrument cluster, removing my rear sway bar and greasing my front sway bar, painting my rusty hubs (no center caps on the cragars), trimming the bottom of my bumper and wheel wells off, and relocating my washer fluid bottle! Was awesome. Huge thanks to Scott, and also to Jim for letting me copy his mods & for the caliper bolt, and to Dustin and Eric for the entertainment...

Looks bigger than it is. It holds about half of what the original did.
