It has been done on a KA. See this thread. Scar0 thanks for the link, I am so going to have to do this. I spent 15 minutes to just find the filter getting ready for my first oil change. When I found it all I could do was laugh a sick twisted laugh.

Nevermind that I bought the skid plates so once I install them it will only get worse.
I've always done my own maintenance including oil changes. When I bought my KK, it came with 3 years of scheduled maintenance. I don't want the hassle of taking it to the dealer and waiting for them to do my oil changes. I figure I can do it faster than the time it would take to drive down there and wait for them to do it.

I still probably won't have them do it but if I didn't like mechanics, I might get a sick pleasure out of making them do this for free.
Since I'll probably have to do this a couple of times before I relocate the filter, is there a trick to do this without having to get out my best profanity?

I looked for a "how to" and didn't find one (still developing my search skills though so sorry if it is out there and I missed it). I'm envisioning shreading my knuckles and trying every wrench I own to figure out how to get this out. If I was 6 inches tall and had the forearms of Popeye, I could fit in there and get this out with ease but as it is, I'd rather have the benefit of someone else's experience that would save me a lot of time and maybe a few knuckles.
Also, it looks like I would need the Trans-Dapt TRD-1127 kit instead of the one in Scar0's reference since the thread size changed to 22mm x 1.5mm for 2009 and 2010 KKs.
