Depending on where the dent is, you might be able to pop it out from the underside.....

My son helped me wash my ride once. He wanted to wash the roof, so he climbed on the hood.
At the time he weighed less than 70 Lbs, and sure enough, he left a nice dent. I was able to pop it out from the inside. When I was fabbing my rack, I also discovered the roof is not very strong either.

I've fixed many dents on the hoods of KJs. The access is great, once you drop the pad. The trick is to have the tools along with the training to do it. There's more to it than just pushing the metal up from the underside if you want it to look right.

I use to get to do paintless dent repair at the factory. Last week I did some training in California for it. With any luck, a PDR business will be my retirement job. :D

When I worked at the bodyshop I would say at least 50% of our work was fixing vehicles right after they had been at a paintless dent repair place.

If the dent is not big(or deep) or has creased the metal it should fairly easy to get it to pop out.Let it sit in direct sunlight to heat up,may not work now that it is winter, need 80 degree+ day for this(100+ works better). Then take a baseball size piece of dry ice and put in a old sock(clean one) and gently rub over the dent until it pops back.Do not let the dry ice directly touch the paint.

It takes some skill to get them to come out right. Unfortunately there are a alot of hacks out there. It's just like bodywork. Everyone with a DA thinks they are a good bodyman. I'm sure you've seen that too.
